There are many crowdfunding sites and there are many freelance sites. Some of these companies do what they do very well, however not one of these companies has made it convenient for small business owners to fund their company and start hiring freelancers on the same site.
This is a huge oversight.
That's why we're developing Fsh Tank. A complete solution for growing small businesses.
Shop for small business owners to invest in. Offer advice to a newbie. Risk some capital, win big! Whether you're looking to invest for equity or sheer benevolence, this is it!
Share your dream and get funded. Get feedback from peers and investors. Find and connect with investors that are interested in your company.
If you're a small business owner, shop freelance services and start building your business today. If you're a freelancer, post a gig and start getting paid today.
As a child of Caribbean immigrants, I had an insatiable longing for the American dream. I didn't grow up well connected, but I wanted to pursue entrepreneurship from a young age.
Only one problem - with limited access to money, coaching, or like-minded peers I had no idea where to start.
"Necessity is the mother of invention"
That's why we created Fsh Tank. It was an answer to aspiring and current small business owners that have the drive to succeed as entrepreneurs, but lack the necessary direction and resources. It's the product we wished existed. We can truly attest to the proverb - "necessity is the mother of invention". This idea wasn't born in a vacuum. It was birthed out of a real need that we felt as frustrated aspiring entrepreneurs. We felt as though if we feel this way, maybe other people feel this way too.
⚠ Cliché ahead: Like so many entrepreneurs, I cite reading the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad as my ... initial inspiration for becoming an entrepreneur. I read that book in my senior year of high school. The rest is history. From that point on, I decided I had to start a company. Only problem: I had no idea where to start. It's been 7 (long) years since then, but I can honestly say they weren't wasted years.
I've spent 7 years finishing a business degree at ODU and a pipefitting apprenticeship at Newport News Shipbuilding. While I wasn't exactly innovating and building the world's biggest company, I learned valuable lessons during those years. I learned how to adapt to new situations, embrace the suck, and how to endure learning things I wasn't naturally good at. These lessons will come in handy in the future.
It's often felt like I was stuck in a prison working a 9-5, watching other business people succeed in "the game". It felt like I was a kid standing on a blacktop watching other kids play double-dutch and I never got my chance to "jump in". This feeling was terrible. I'm sure there are many entrepreneurs like me that feel the same way. That's why I'm bent on making Fsh Tank available to every trapped entrepreneur.
Having consumed countless books, YouTube videos, podcasts, and conversations with total strangers later... Here we are.
Fsh Tank aims to be the answer to frustrated entrepreneurs stuck in their 9-5 grinds with seemingly no way out. We want to make starting and growing a small business dummy proof.
